This was my first engagement session at Griffith Observatory and as you will see, Yamanda, Richard and I had a great time. Here are some of my favorite pictures from their session.
Here are some of my favorite pics from Tiffany & David’s orange county engagement session. I can’t wait for their wedding later this year.
Have you ever seen “The Notebook”? It is Danielle’s favorite movie. So she asked if I could shoot her engagement session as if it were inspired by the movie. Danielle put a lot of thought into their wardrobe, the props, the scenery, and the time period. I hadn’t seen the movie until Danielle made this request. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy the results.
As we grow older, we “grow” emotionally. When my children were born, I had an immediate , but fairly shallow love for them. They are now 5 and 7 and my love is so much stronger due to my experiences and emotional growth I have had with them.
Art is a way of expressing ones personal emotions. One way I obviously express my emotions is through photography. And just like how we grow emotionally as humans, we “grow” emotionally as artists. If we as artists find ourselves not being inspired and emotional though our art, our art will die. I definitely still have that desire to express my emotions and hopefully evoke the emotions of others through my art. I am constantly looking for that new thing that will “stir” my emotions. Just like raising and loving my children, through continuous experimentation, education, and observation, I am always evolving and growing through my experiences.
Ashley and Rich are a lovely couple who plan to marry in Hawaii this year. Before their wedding we went to one of my favorite Laguana Beach spots and took some photos for their engagement. The following are some of the pictures they chose to display at their reception. Include with these photos are some of the same photos with different post effects. The pictures I printed for them are lovely but fairly traditional pictures. So with a little experimentation I wanted to see what other emotions I could portray by doing some fairly simple changes in post productions. So which photo’s are your favorites and why?
Hotel Laguna is a charming hotel in the heart of Laguna and is one of the few locations where you can have your wedding directly on the beach. Jennifer and Dan had an intimate wedding inviting just their closest friends and family members. As the sun began to set, and sand between their toes, the guests stood around the couple as they exchanged vow and expressed their love for each other. Their were many things that stood out at this wedding but I think the most memorable thing was their pet parakeet. That bird was so sweet and was side by side Dan and Jen almost the whole day. Even at the reception, the bird sang a little song during their first dance.
Here are some of my favorite images from their wedding. Enjoy!
Even though the St. Regis Monarch Beach is a large resort, they can do small weddings exceptionally well. I recently photographed a small (10 people total) destination wedding at the St. Regis with Ruth Wang of Plan to Perfection. The ceremony was in the beautiful Botanical Garden and the reception took place in the intimate Wine Cellar. Keith J. Laverty did an amazing job with the floral design (purple, pinks, & silver). Even in January, Southern California is a great place to have an outdoor wedding. And a small outdoor wedding at the St. Regis is a location everyone should consider.
Seif & Hala are so sweet and it was such a pleasure capturing some of that sweetness at their wedding. From the hand written note, special gift, flowers, and the hand kiss Seif gave to Hala before the wedding, to the touching speeches about the couple from their loving family members at the reception, Seif and Hala really had a story book wedding. The first look was a very special moment and then we had some fun playing at the San Juan Capistrano Train Station. The day went off without a hitch, thanks in part to Mary from the Serra Plaza (San Juan Capistrano). I love so many of their pictures and here are just some of my favorites.
